Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) has come up with a proposal to provide monthly scholarships to research scholars.

According to the proposal, research scholars, who have cleared the national eligibility test, would get a monthly scholarship of Rs 12,000, while those who clear the pre-PhD registration test would be given receive Rs 7,000.

The vice-chancellor (VC) of the university, Saket Kushwaha, said: "The proposal would be put up in the academic council meeting of the university scheduled to be held sometime between September 10 and 15. Once the proposal is approved, the scholarship system would be introduced."

At present, research scholars at LNMU do not get any scholarship, which forces them to pursue their research work using their own financial resources.
