Revamp for Ara railway station

Railway minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday laid the foundation stone for development of passenger amenities worth Rs 26.62 crore at Ara railway station through a video link from New Delhi.

Patna: Railway minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday laid the foundation stone for development of passenger amenities worth Rs 26.62 crore at Ara railway station through a video link from New Delhi.

The work includes new platforms, new station building, a coach complex, construction of pit line, development of circulating area and extension of foot overbridge.

At Ara railway station, minister of state for power and new & renewable energy Raj Kumar Singh, additional general manager of East Central Railway (ECR) Anup Kumar and Danapur divisional railway manager (DRM) Ranjan Prakash Thakur were present.

As per the contract, all the works will be completed by December 2018.

Addressing people through the video link, Goyal said an exhibition on Babu Veer Kunwar Singh will be put up at Ara railway station soon.
