Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour, is set to extend its research activities to help farmers increase their production.

Director of extension, IGNOU, New Delhi, B.S. Hansra advised the varsity to extend its research activities while attending the 5th research and extension council meeting at Bihar Agriculture University on Friday.

He expressed concern about the fact that only 30-35 per cent of the research activities reach the farmers. However, he praised the university for its initiatives like video-conferencing, text messages, community radio station and farmer-friendly publication.

He said the Krishi Vigyan Kendras should have information kiosk to help the farmers.
