Gaya, April 13: Taking a leaf out of Anna Hazare’s book, railway employees have decided to launch an agitation against corrupt senior officials. The decision was taken at a news meet organised by the east-central Gaya branch of All India Guards’ Council (AIGC) at a hotel today.

At least 12 railway associations are set to wage war against corruption. A general meeting of these associations has been called on Gaya railway station premises on Thursday.

Patnayak alleged that the agitation was being launched against dictatorship and repressive measures adopted by senior officials against their junior employees.

Holding back railway passes, suspension, transfer, removal and checks on salary increment were the punitive measures being adopted by senior officials without mentioning the reason.

Book-up of junior employees by the officials has become a regular affair.

Patnayak said book-up is a punitive measure in which a junior employee is scolded or humiliated by a senior official on recommendation by the supervisor or the immediate senior.
