Motihari, Jan. 24: Reports from intelligence sources that Maoists may hoist black flags on school buildings on the eve of Republic Day has sent alarm bells ringing for police and security agencies posted in the district.

The station house officers are on high alert because of precedence of rebels targeting government buildings and police stations on the eve of Republic Day and Independence Day. East Champaran superintendent of police Paras Nath has instructed all officers in the Naxalite-hit areas to carry our raids, search operations and collect information about their areas and pass it on to the district headquarters.
