Patna Women's College students on Wednesday ushered in the Yuletide spirit with a difference.
They invited transgenders to the campus and provided them a platform to share views about their rights. Seventy-five transgenders from Patna took part in the event christened 'Platinum jubilee Christmas milan with transgender friends'.

The mood was upbeat as the girls shook a leg with the transgenders in a ballet performance, 'Search within'.
The ballet depicted how transgenders are treated in society and conveyed the message that instead of looking for sympathy, they should stand up for themselves if they wanted the world to treat them on an equal footing. The students also performed on the tracks Nachu gayu and Aashayein khile dil ki sung by the student cabinet.
Punam Kumari, a faculty of the home science department, said: 'We are proud to have you here with us.'
Dimple Jasmine, a transgender, said: 'I feel honoured by this gesture. I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas.'
Sister Marie Jessi, the principal, donned the role of Santa Claus and extended Christmas greetings to all.
