Patna, Oct. 2: Triple ride on motorbikes will lead you to police stations this Dussehra.
The men in uniform, in a bid to ensure safe Puja for revellers, have decided to crackdown on those who zoom on their motorbikes throwing regulations to the wind.
Speaking to The Telegraph, Patna city central superintendent of police Shivdeep Lande, who is also SP (traffic), said policemen will be deputed at different point to keep an eye on youths who tend to go for triple ride on motorbikes and harass people, particularly women.
Also, policemen in civil clothes will be deputed at big Puja pandals, which witness heavy crowd.
“Generally, those caught riding triple on motorbikes are fined Rs 100 on the spot. During the four days of Durga Puja people violating traffic norms will be taken to the police station and made to sit there before being fined,” the officer said.
“At places like Machuatoli, Dakbungalow Chowk and Bangali Akhara, which witness heavy rush, chances of harassment and eve-teasing are more. The policemen have been asked to monitor these places in civil clothes and be on a constant look out for troublemakers,” the officer said.
