Motihari, Oct. 4: A series of yatras by chief minister Nitish Kumar has failed to dispose of petitions he had collected over the past few years during his welfare journeys.
Now, after Nyay Yatra, Vikas Yatra and Vishwas Yatra — all started by Nitish from West Champaran in the past few years to instil confidence among the common people regarding improved situation in a changing Bihar — his Sewa Yatra is also scheduled from the same place in the first week of November.
This is irrespective of the fact that nearly 80 public petitions given to the chief minister during his Vishwas Yatra are yet to be disposed of in East Champaran.
Nearly 80 applications out of those submitted during the Vishwas Yatra in April 2010 and also those sent by the CM’s secretariat and received here are yet to be disposed of.
Out of the pending matters, 30 were related to public grievance, an equal number of matters were related to revenue grievance and the remaining 20 were regarding development matters. The senior deputy collector and also the in-charge of the public grievance cell, Anil Kumar, said the officials concerned have been given a grace period of five days by the East Champaran district magistrate, Abhijit Sinha, with stern instructions to dispose of the matters latest by September 25.
