Patna, June 9: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar today said his party expected a rational and pragmatic approach from the JDU and the RJD when it came to seat-sharing in the Assembly elections.

Pawar, who was in the city today to attend a party meeting, said whereas they didn't expect many seats to contest polls in Bihar, the party expected that the ratio of seat-sharing would be practical. "For the upcoming Council polls for 24 seats in Bihar, the NCP has been given one seat. When the issue of distribution of seats comes up for the Assembly polls, we would keep our position in front of the JDU and the RJD after consulting it with our party leaders. In the Lok Sabha polls, we managed to win one seat in the form of Tariq Anwar. Though we don't expect many seats, we are ready to contest the polls from limited seats," Pawar said in a news conference.

With politics regarding surya namaskar on a high at present, Pawar attacked the BJP, stating that the party was acting as if they were the dictators of the country.

"There is no acchhe din still and the fact that the farmers are committing suicide proves it. One thing that stands clear lies is the fact that the BJP's priority is definitely not agriculture. The same can be said about Maharashtra too," said Pawar.

Stressing that the party hoped that the JDU and the RJD took a pragmatic approach towards seat-sharing, Pawar defended his party colleague Chhagan Bhujbal, who had been booked under several sections by the Maharashtra anti-corruption bureau in connection with alleged corruption in awarding some contracts, including the one for construction of the new Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi.

"I am sure that he has been framed and we have full faith in him. It is nothing but a conspiracy and he would come out clean. I want to stress more on the Assembly polls here and Bhujbal would be made in-charge of the campaign here. I do hope that the JDU and the RJD would co-operate with us," Pawar said.
