February 10 will be observed as national deworming day in Bihar. Shashi Bhushan Kumar, an official of the state health society, said on Wednesday that deworming medicines will be administered to over 4.77 crore children aged between one and 14 years. Another round will be organised on February 15 for those who may have missed the first.

Lecture

JNU professor Arun Kumar, at the Vinodanandan Prasad Singh memorial lecture on Wednesday, criticised the Centre's demonetisation move as it focused on black currency, fake notes and terror funding, but overlooked that black money is present in other forms like gold, dollars, land and diamonds. The event was presided over by Pannalal Surana, a socialist from Maharashtra.
