Toddy protest
Members of Toddy Traders' Welfare Association on Sunday burnt effigies of two ministers and five MLAs belonging to the Pasi community for not raising their voices against the proposal to ban toddy.
The association staged a daylong dharna followed by burning the effigies of education minister Ashok Choudhary, mines and geology minister Munneshwar Choudhary, Prema Choudhary (RJD), Prakash Veer (RJD), Manish Choudhary (JDU), Banti Choudhary (Congress) and Ashok Choudhary (Independent).
Ram Babu Choudhary, the state president of the association, said the livelihood of over 40 lakh people was in danger. He accused the Pasi lawmakers of not doing anything to safe their livelihood. The activists vowed to teach chief minister Nitish Kumar a lesson in elections.

Lions Club Patna Femina (district 322E) on Sunday held its 22nd installation ceremony.
Its outgoing president, Anita Krishna, secretary Ila Mittal and treasurer Mamta Raj handed over their responsibilities to the new members - president Babita Sinha, Jhuma Banerjee and treasurer Nita Mishra.
