Financial awareness

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organised a financial awareness programme for the students of Don Bosco Academy on Monday.

RBI regional director M.K. Verma spoke on RBI's role in the lives of the common people, importance of financial planning, benefits of being associated with any banks, difference between government and private banks and various other issues.

Around 50 students and teachers of the school attended the event.

Tourism

Kerala tourism department organised a programme at a city hotel on Monday to promote the various initiatives undertaken to increase tourist footfall in the state.

A cultural programme was organised in which five traditional dance forms, including Mohiniyattam and Kathakali were performed.

The deputy director of Kerala Tourism Department, Nanda Kumar, said: "The department has come out with a holiday programme - Natventure. The idea is to use the state's wildlife, hill stations, beaches, and backwaters with adventure activities. It will include trekking, camping, rock climbing, wildlife safaris, bird watching, cycling and paragliding among others."
