National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) organised a news meet on Wednesday where NIOS regional director Sanjay Kumar Sinha said the organisation would start a year-long training programme on basic medical aid for quacks within a week.

Shri Krishna Science Centre in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) organised a seminar on "Harnessing light: possibilities and challenges" on Wednesday.

The joint secretary of education department, K. Senthil Kumar (IAS) said: "Solar panels are the most common method used to convert sunlight into energy but neither is it an efficient method nor an affordable technique."
