RJD chief Lalu Prasad justified fielding his daughter from the Pataliputra parliamentary seat stressing that Misa is the bahu (daughter-in-law) of Pataliputra. The RJD never fails to remind the voters that Dr Misa Bharti was their daughter-in-law and they should bless her by giving their votes. he BJP leaders, however, appeared amused. “Misa is such a daughter-in-law that after her marriage she has not visited her sasural even once. If she becomes the MP, she will remain the same and nobody will see her again for another five years. The people of Naubatpur need a bhai (brother) like Ram Kripal Yadav, who comes to the rescue of the people whenever they need him,” said a BJP leader, while delivering a speech at an election rally. The Kali temple at Mainpura in Danapur is a destination for politicians praying for victory. isa Bharti and her father Lalu Prasad, too, offered prayers before proceeding to a campaign. The temple priest, Shivendar Nath Mishra, said most politicians have turned up here to offer prayers. But Mishra refuses to answer which way the wind is blowing according to the devotees. I have asked devotees not to talk about politics on the temple premises,” he said, adding that “political talks” may lead to tension and this was a thing he wanted to avoid. So far the devotees have abided by Mishra’s request. The widely televised episode of bhatiji (Misa Bharati) waiting at the Delhi residence of Ram Kripal Yadav for six hours to meet her chacha without success is being used by RJD leaders in election campaigns. “Ram Kripalji has insulted the daughter of Bihar. He should have at least met her. Lalu should take revenge for the insult of his daughter,” said an RJD leader at a public meeting. “The manner in which Lalu insulted a genuine leader who had toiled for years is also an issue,” retorted a BJP leader.
