Vishakha Jaiswal of Exhibition Roadis glad she doesn't have to stand in the scorching sun to collect BCom admission forms from Magadh Mahila College anymore.
Asha Singh, the college principal, said a notice has been put up, informing students and guardians about the online admission procedure.
"The online process would start from May 2 and continue till June 4," she said. "Afterwards, Patna University would issue the date of examination and prepare the list of candidates for the different undergraduate courses."
The online process will make it easier for the students and the college administration as queues will be a thing of the past. The forms will be available on www.magadhmahilacollege.org.
Students like Vishakha who have their sights set on Magadh Mahila College are happy with the initiative.
"The temperature is on the rise and it would have been impossible to purchase forms from the college counter, waiting hours for my turn," said Vishakha. "Even the list of students selected for interview would be updated online."
"Mahendru resident Rashi Singh, who wants to apply for bachelors in computer application, said: "All the information is given on the college website. The best part of the online admission process is that I would not have to carry my school certificates."
Preeti Singhal, a resident of Govind Mitra Road, said: "I do not have to visit the college again and again for the admission procedure, that's really good news. All I need to do is log in to college website and apply."
Magadh Mahila College principal Asha said: "In case a student is not computer-friendly, she can take help of the officials deputed to help them with the online process. Union Bank will handle the financial transaction for the admission fees. A student would either pay online or through challan."
