Patna, May 19: Students of most schools in the state capital have done exceedingly well in this year’s ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII examinations, the results for which were announced today.
Sources in St Joseph’s Convent High School said Class X students Sunanda Chatterjee and Tulika Ranjan bagged the top slot with 98.2 per cent each, while Soumya Anand and Shreya Singh shared the second position with 97.4 per cent. Swarnima with 97.2 per cent marks bagged the third position.
Class XII student Supriya Rohatgi was St Joseph’s topper with 94.2 per cent, followed by Kriti Sharma (93.7%) and Adithi Anand (93.5%) in the commerce stream.
The arts stream saw three toppers — Uzma Batool, Antra Vijay and Sristhi Patra with 93.5, 93 and 91.2 per cent, respectively. The science stream was led by Gayatri (90.2 per cent), Priya Kumari (88.7 per cent) and Stuti Bharti (88.5 per cent), the sources in the school said.
Gayatri said: “My physics teacher, Archana Priyada-rshini, class teacher Shweta Priyadarshini and others were of great support. It was a gradual process for me to come to this position. I had worked throughout the year.”
Don Bosco Academy, on the other hand, registered cent per cent success in both the examinations. Congratulating the students and members of the school, the director of Don Bosco Academy and convener of ICSE, A.G. deRozario, said: “Ayush Anurag with 97.6 per cent is our Class X topper, while Shaurya Aarav is in the second position with 97.4 per cent. Harsh Chandra and Kumar Ujjwal shared the third slot jointly with 97.2 per cent.”
In Class XII, Tanay Mukund led the science stream with 90.25 per cent, to be followed by Shashank Shekhar with 89.5 per cent and Ayesha Raman with 80.5 per cent. In the commerce stream, Aditya Bhardwaj topped the school with 86.5 per cent and the second slot went to Rakesh Ranjan (85.3 per cent).
Akshay Hegde of International School was the Class X topper with 98 per cent, while Shivam Choudhary secured 97.4 per cent.
On learning his score, Akshay said: “This was quite unexpected as I had joined the school in the middle of the academic session. Half the syllabus was over by then. It was only because of the cooperation of my teachers that I could manage to overcome all hurdles.”
The topper of St Paul’s High School was Abhishek Kumar Yadav with 97.6 per cent, whereas the second and third slots were grabbed by Ashwini Kumar Verma (97.2 per cent) and Abhishek Ranjan (97 per cent). Sources in the school said 23.5 per cent students have secured 90 per cent and above, while 42.5 per cent pupils scored 80 per cent and above.
Jesus And Mary Academy topper Shubham Kumar got 94 per cent, while Utkarsh Kumar finished second with 92.8 per cent and Sonali Priya third with 92.2 per cent.
Rose Bud School principal M. Rizvi said I.S. Twinkle (97.2 per cent) was the topper from the institution, while Shorya secured 94.4 per cent and Yash Choudhary 93.2 per cent.
Seventeen schools in the Patna division have classes up to X and six up to XII. The schools that have Class XII are St Joseph’s Convent High School, Carmel High School, Don Bosco Academy, Jesus and Mary Academy and Lohia Nagar Mount Carmel High School.
