A school organised its first alumni meet and enjoyed a day of nostalgia, while another institution extended support to prohibition. Faryal Rumi reports

Special attraction: The school hosted its first Mega Alumni Meet on the campus with former students of the past 11 batches. The mood was electric as nearly 200 students returned to the campus for some good dose of nostalgia and memories. School principal Colonel Prem Prakash and the other teachers welcomed the former students. "All of you have been a pillar of strength in making this school a great place to learn," Prakash told the students, while thanking them for their support to institution. The alumni members shared memorable moments at school as did the senior teachers who remembered their old students. A dance and music event was organised with a DJ adding extra spice to the fun afternoon. A lunch followed the celebrations after which the students formed an alumni association and decided the next agenda of the association. The students were presented mementos as well.

Event: Pledge for liquor ban

Duration: Half-an-hour

Special attraction: About 350 students pledged contribution to the ban on liquor in Bihar. They formed a human chain on the campus and formed the word "Nashabandi (prohibition)" to promote the cause. Poster-making, painting, essay-writing and slogan-writing competitions were organised for the students to make them aware about the ill-effects of liquor. Parents also attended the programme where some students shared their views about the liquor ban through presentations.

Abhishek Patrick, the school director, appreciated the students for their hard work and said youngsters have sent out a strong message against liquor and intoxicants not only in the country but across the world.

He also asked the students to educate their neighbours and relatives about the harmful impact of liquor consumption. A series of cultural programmes was organised during the awareness drive at school.
