Chhapra, June 23: Human resource development department secretary Shiva Kumar has served a showcause notice on the registrar of Jai Prakash University Vijay Pratap Kumar over the transfer of 19 Grade III and Grade IV employees despite the government’s order to not to transfer and appoint anybody in the varsity.

The 19 university employees were transferred in June this year.

The notice has sought an explanation from the registrar on the transfers within 24 hours of receiving it.

A copy of the showcause notice has been sent to the acting vice-chancellor of the varsity D.P. Sinha.

The secretary has stated that on March 3 letters were sent to the registrars of the universities of the state directing them to not to appointment and transfer teaching and non-teaching employees till further notice because the process of amendment in the rulings of Patna University and Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University were under consideration.
