Patna, Oct. 7: Governor D.Y. Patil has set the ball rolling for the appointment of full-fledged vice-chancellors (VCs) and pro-VCs to Bihar’s universities.
Patil, who is chancellor of the state’s universities, has approved the statute on the basis of which appointments would be made. He has called for applications from aspirants to be sent to nodal officers concerned of the 11 universities.
Eminent educationists can nominate persons whom they consider fit to hold the post.
A press note from Raj Bhavan issued today stated that advertisements for the posts have been published in newspapers and uploaded on the Bihar governor’s official website governor.bih.nic.in. The last date for receiving applications is October 23.
Raj Bhavan stated that the advertisement had been also been put up on the official websites of the 11 universities. The rules, proforma of application and recommendation and the amendments made in the law are yet to be uploaded.
Following scrutiny, the search committees would call eligible candidates to Patna for a presentation and interaction, between the last week of October and mid-November.
