Patna, June 7: Chief minister Nitish Kumar today asked district magistrates to speed up the “land donation scheme” process to construct buildings for primary health centres, anganwadi kendras and schools in the state.

“The district magistrates should hold a meeting with circle officers to speed up the implementation of the scheme. The proposals for making land donations for construction of buildings for health centres, schools and anganwadi kendras should be disposed of quickly,” Nitish told the officials during review meetings of various departments and their schemes during his Seva Yatra in Madhepura.

The land would be donated through proper registry after getting the documents verified by the district magistrate office in the name of the governor of Bihar, Nitish said, adding that the DMs have been authorised to accept the land donations on behalf of the governor to streamline the process.

The chief minister also directed the officials concerned to ensure that the people willing to donate land for the noble cause should neither face any difficulty nor make rounds of offices. He stressed on the need to initiate a special drive in districts for the purpose.

During the review meetings of departments of welfare, minorities welfare, social security, health and schemes like Indira Awas Yojana and MGNREGA, Nitish directed the officials to ensure availability of medicines at all the health centres. Apart from the CM, others who were present during the review meeting included JD(U) national president and local MP Sharad Yadav, energy minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, law minister Narendra Narayan Yadav, water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, SC/ST welfare minister Jitan Ram Manjhi besides legislators, MPs and principal secretaries.
