Patna, July 15: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar today slammed Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for his comment against migrants following the Mumbai blasts by saying that one should not make such a comment.
“One should refrain from making such comment on such sensitive issues because whenever there is a terrorist attack, it harms the nation. So people should always be united on such issues. While making any comment one should always remember that the comment should not help the terrorists because different people have different nature of voice. And if steps are being taken against terrorism, then we must welcome and support it,” said Nitish.
Following Wednesday’s blast, Raj had said every time people cannot blame the police department or intelligence failure, as it was not possible to control the number of people due to migrants. He also said acts of crime could be committed without the help of local people and any terror attack could happen due to the burgeoning number of migrants.
Outside the Bihar Assembly, other ministers and legislators too slammed Raj for making the comment. Public health and engineering department minister Chandra Mohan Rai said: “Raj’s comment is very unfortunate and can harm the communal harmony, he should not pass such comments for vested interests. Sensible people should not take his comment seriously and should always try to keep away from such kind of people.”
