Tatkal for Duronto

Patna: The railways has decided to introduce tatkal scheme for Duronto Express. eeraj Amasthan, the East Central Railway, chief public relations officer said Aadhar card would be the ninth photo identification proof to make reservation under the tatkal scheme.

Suspension

Patna: Social welfare minister Parveen Amanullah on Friday said the department has suspended two district programme officers, an assistant director, social security, and 33 child development project officers in 2011. The action has been taken for dereliction of duty.

Patna: Paralympic Committee of Bihar on Friday felicitated Gajendra Sahni for winning bronze at the 11th National Swimming Competition held in Pune.

Patna: Residents of Gausganj under Ara police station area blocked the road and stalled traffic for over three hours on Ara-Barhara road on Friday to protest against the abduction of a teenaged girl on Thursday.

Patna: Armed criminals looted Rs 5.7 lakh from the Hajipur branch of State Bank of India under Kako police station in Jehanabad district on Friday afternoon.

Rape ruling

Patna: Ram Nandan Mahto, 55, was sentenced to life imprisonment after being held guilty in a rape case lodged with Ghoswari police station in Patna district.
