Power off for 4 hours

Patna: Bihar State Electricity Board on Friday announced that there would be a shutdown of Vikas Bhavan power sub-station (PSS) on Saturday from 11am to 3pm, board spokesman H.R. Pandey said. ower supply would be affected in Circular Road, Raj Bhavan campus, CBI office, Samwad Bhavan, chief minister Secretariat, Bailey Road Officer’s flats, JD Women’s College, Shashtri Nagar and Boring Road areas. Power would be also be off from 11am to 3pm on Sunday following a shutdown of Sinchai Bhavan power sub-station.

Bribe arrests

Patna: Vigilance Investigation Bureau sleuths on Friday caught three government officials red-handed while allegedly accepting bribes from complainants for discharging their duties. They have been identified as Vijay Kumar Gupta, Awdhesh Kumar, and Chandrakant Mishra.

Tech boost

Patna: The health department will computerise records of medicines for distribution among patients at the state-run hospitals in all districts from April 1.

Darbhanga: A 20-year-old youth, identified as Abhishekh Upadhaya, was nabbed by Government Railway Police for cheating passengers by posing as a train ticket examiner on Friday.

Gaya: Four criminals made an attempt on the life of Magadh University Non-teaching Employees’ Association general secretary Amarnath Pathak on Friday. Pathak has lodged an FIR with Magadh University police station.

Actress dead

Patna/Mumbai: Bhojpuri actress Ruby Singh allegedly committed suicide in her Mumbai residence on Friday. Police found no suicide note as her body was recovered in the afternoon.
