Warrant against officer

Patna: A high court division bench comprising Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Vikas Jain on Friday issued a arrest warrant against erstwhile education secretary K.K. Pathak, who is also the present Union joint secretary of ministry of home affairs, , in a contempt case relating to Patna University. he court passed the direction while hearing a suo motu contempt proceedings initiated for non-compliance of its order.

Katihar: The sarpanch (head) of Berari panchayin Katihar district was shot dead at her residence on Thursday night.

Samastipur: Two accused in the Phannu Jha murder case, Ramadhar Jha and Bablu Singh, alias Dudhpiwa, surrendered before the acting chief judicial magistrate, Ramashray, at Dalsingsarai sub-divisional court on Friday.

Patna: No Kingfisher flight has been operating from the airport since Thursday purportedly because of the pilots’ strike.

Arrests

Patna: Two persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly murdering central public works department contractor Basant Singh on October 14 last year. They have been identified as Durgesh and Shivshankar.
