Railway drug warning

Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) on Monday warned against gangs that drug passengers on trains, ahead of Holi. CR appealed passengers to be cautious and issued helpline numbers — 06224- 223580 and 09661169747 — to report drugging incidents.

Promotion

Patna: BCP Singh, the deputy director (industries) in the home (prisons) department, has been promoted to director (industries) of the department. Singh is the first officer who has been promoted to this rank.

AC buses

Patna: Eden Transport Private Limited will resume the services of its eight air-conditioned buses after Holi. A trial run of two such buses started from Monday.

Bar seminar

Patna: Supreme Court Justice Altamas Kabir has given his nod to inaugurate the international seminar of Bihar State Bar Council on June 30 and July 1. Delegates from the Saarc countries have been invited to take part in the seminar.

Green miles

Patna: The 1st Indian Oil Full Tank Eco-Run event 2012 would be held on March 17. The event would start from Patna and participants would go to Lucknow before returning to the state capital.

Appointment

Patna: A division bench of the high court on Monday disposed of a PIL directing the state government to appoint trained teachers in schools for differently abled children and develop the infrastructure at the schools.

Dud helpline

Patna: Rishikesh Ojha, a Rajeev Nagar resident, claimed not to have received any response from the police helpline despite making repeated calls to the emergency number, 100, after jewellery and cash were looted from his home on Sunday evening.

Body found

Patna: Rajiv Nagar police recovered the body of a youth from a well on road number-24 of the area on Monday.
