Rupam taken to hospital

Purnea, Feb. 5: Rupam Pathak, the prime accused in BJP MLA Rajkishore Keshari murder case, was taken to Sadar hospital on Saturday for check-up under tight security. She has been reportedly suffering from headache and knee pain. he has said the problems started after she took the medicines as prescribed by doctors. Her doctor, O.P. Saha, prescribed some tests including CT Scan, X-Ray and blood test.

Blockade

Patna: An irate mob blocked the Gandhi Maidan-Danapur road near Digha and disrupted vehicular traffic for more than an hour on Saturday to protest against the police’s failure to trace a contractor Jitendra Kumar, who went missing on Friday.

Sentence

Patna: Special vigilance judge, Patna, Ajit Kumar Sinha on Saturday sentenced Shailendra Mohan Das, a former junior engineer of public works department, Patna, to three years’ rigorous imprisonment in connection with embezzlement of Rs 1.2 lakh. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000. The sentenced has been awarded in this case after 24 years.

Jail remand

Patna:Masaurhi police on Saturday produced four persons in the court of district and sessions judge, Patna, in connection with seizure of narcotics. Judge V.N. Mishra sent Chhatu Paswan, Sidheswar Paswan, Hamid Mukhtar and Ajit Kumar to jail till January 18.

Cong meet

Patna: Bihar Congress chief Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Qaiser on Saturday called a meeting of all the candidates of the recently-concluded Assembly elections in three phases. The first phase will be on Feb- ruary 9, second on February 10 and the third and last phase on February 12. All the candidates have been called to Sadaqat Ashram by 11.30am.

Symposium

Patna: The Bihar chapter of Indian Association of Teachers’ Education on Saturday organised a state-level symposium on “Right to Education (RTE) Act and Bihar: Opportunities and Challenges” at Gandhi Sangrahalaya auditorium.

Parking case

Patna: Sub-judge-10, Patna, Rajnish Kumar Srivastava on Saturday summoned divisional railway manager, Danapur division in connection with a dispute of car parking stand at North side of Patna Junction case. The next date of this case is on March 7, 2011. The case has been filed by Ram Sunder Prasad Singh.atna: The Zimmer Mobile Learning Centre provided training to the doctors of PMCH and NMCH. On Saturday, the fully-equipped mobile van departed from Patna to impart state-of-art training to young orthosurgeons and paramedical staff in caring for patient in need of basis orthopaedic surgeries related to arthroplasty as well as trauma procedures. On Friday, the van trained 25 paramedical staff and orthosurgeons at Popular Nursing Home before heading for Aarogya Orthopaedic Clinic. The Zimmer mobile van gives paramedical staff a chance to learn about instrumentation, which is very critical during surgeries.
