Chhapra, Feb. 19: Maoists blew up the house of former mukhiya Pushp Lal Kunwar at Chintamanpur village of Chakiya panchayat under Panapur police station late on Friday night. Sources said around 25 Maoists blew up the house with landmines. ushp Lal Kunwar is a murder accused and is absconding. Sources said he is also accused in the abduction of one Surendra Rai. Patna: Bihar State Electricity Board on Saturday promoted 20 electrical executive engineers to the post of electrical superintending engineers. A notification to this effect was issued by the board’s general administration department. Of the 20 superintending engineers, 13 engineers are from the board itself. Chhapra: Agitated villagers on Saturday torched a police vehicle at Ghorghat village under Manjhi police station. The villagers had put up a roadblock after a speeding truck mowed down Gulam Khan (10). The police reached the spot and tried to disperse the mob following which a scuffle ensued between the two parties. Chhapra Sadar sub-divisional officer Vinay Pandey and deputy superintendent of police Kailash Prasad reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Patna: Bihar Chamber of Commerce president O.P. Sah said the chamber would submit a memorandum to the President of India, Union finance minister and Bihar governor for granting of special category state status for the Bihar’s overall development. Patna: Bank of India’s executive director N. Seshadri, while on his two-day visit to Bihar, would attend a function on outreach activity at village Sakra Mansurpur in Uzaffarpur district for financial inclusion of school children and villagers.
