Auto unions meet

Patna: Auto unions of the capital held a meeting on Thursday to discuss fare hike. They would submit a memorandum to chief minister Nitish Kumar to allow them to run auto on LPG. he unions said they would be forced to hike fare by Re 1 from Monday if their demands were not met.

Affidavit

Patna: The high court on Thursday asked the state to file its counter affidavit by June 25 as to what action it has taken to remove Samastipur district magistrate and deputy development commissioner who had illegally detained lawyer Anil Kumar Singh for allegedly taking bribe.

Minister PIL

Patna: The high court on Thursday sought an explanation within one-and-a-half month from the state government on a PIL filed by social worker Arvind Kumar Sinha against land reforms minister Ramai Ram. Justice Samarendra Pratap Singh asked the state to res-pond on the petition by filing an affidavit before the next hearing.

Statement

Patna: Sri Krishna Puri police on Thursday produced the daughter of Patna high court lawyer Ajit Kumar Singh before the chief judicial magistrate of Patna, Rama Kant Yadav, on Thursday. Yadav directed police to record her statement. The girl had gone mising on April 24 and Singh accused Sunil (20) of kidnapping her.

Three dead

Patna: Three persons died and two others were injured after being hit by a train near Bachchwara-Teghra halt in Begusarai on Thursday.

Suspension

Patna: Bihar Vikas Morcha has requested state Lokayukta to intervene in delay of suspension of four civil surgeons who were announced suspended by health minister Ashwini Choubey over two months ago.

Oath

Patna: The state election commission on Thursday said the new Patna Municipal Corporation councillors would take oath on June 10.
