Patna: Deputy general manager of Bihar State Road Development Corporation Ramesh Kumar Singh on Thursday lodged an FIR at Kotwali police station against a contractor alleging that he threatened Kumar’s family. e alleged that the contractor went to his official residence after Singh refused to let labourers renovate his house earlier in the morning and threatened his wife in his absence.

Firing report

Patna: District magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh on Thursday said a preliminary report on the police firing on contractual employees of Bihar State Electricity Board has been submitted to the home department.

Patna: A 22-year-old National Institute of Technology student has been missing since June 23. His family has been getting calls demanding Rs 6 lakh as ransom since June 24.

Salary

Patna: A high court division bench on Thursday directed the officials concerned to pay pending salaries of about 75 Grade IV employees in the Assembly’s secretariat within two weeks.

Patna: East Central Railway has decided to run a special train for the convenience of pilgrims during the month-long Shravani Mela.

Accident

Patna: The official vehicle of inspector-general (operations) Amit Kumar, which was allegedly speeding, rammed against an SUV near Eco Park on Thursday afternoon. The senior officer was not in the car at the time of the accident.

Arrest

Patna: Five criminals were arrested on Thursday. Two countrymade pistols, three live cartridges, three mobiles, a gold ring and Rs 12,500 have been recovered from them.
