Talk invite to doctors

Patna, June 16 (PTI): The state government today invited the junior doctors of Patna Medical College and Hospital, who have gone on a strike, for talks. However, it also warned them not to prevent willing medicos from discharging their duties. rincipal secretary (health) Vyasji invited the junior doctors to urge them to end their strike.

Ramesh

Patna: Union rural development minister Jairam Ramesh on Saturday morning claimed that the state government has failed to check the rampant corruption at the panchayat-level in the schemes under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. He said the state government has made only 35 per cent of the targeted roads under the Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

Job Racket

Patna: Ten persons were arrested on Saturday for being allegedly involved in a fake job racket. They had taken several lakhs from aspirants from states by promising them jobs.

SBI strike

Patna: The State Bank of India employees’ association has decided to postpone their strike on Monday, which they had called in protest against the murder of a head cashier at Patliputra branch.

Condolence

Patna: C.P. Thakur, the state president of the BJP, and many other senior leaders of the party on Saturday expressed condolence at the demise of former party president Krishndev Singh alias Jhunna Da.

Jab at Lalu

Patna: Sanjay Mayukh, the state vice-president of the BJP, and party spokesperson Sudhir Kumar criticised Lalu Prasad’s ongoing yatra in the state.

Yatra

Patna: The standing committee of CPI-ML (Liberation) in a meeting on Saturday decided it would hold a nyay yatra (march for justice) on July 11 in Ara on the occasion of 60th year of the Bathani Tola massacre. The party would also stage a demonstration at the district magistrate’s office on June 18 and the chief minister’s office on June 20.
