7000 in railway net

Patna: East Central Railway booked 7,000 people in April for disrupting railway activities like travelling without tickets, pulling chain, illegal vending in and around railway stations and smoking on its premises. ll have been booked under railway act in April and fine worth Rs 24.12 lakh have been collected.

Flight back

Patna: The night flight of Air India (AI-408) from Patna airport scheduled at 8.05pm, which was earlier cancelled because of pilots’ strike, has been resumed from Wednesday night.

Murder

Patna: A 30-year-old man was allegedly shot dead at Gwalpara Chowk of Purnea district late on Tuesday night. The cause of murder was said to be a tussle between two mukhiya candidates of Dobha Milki panchayat. The man has been identified as Shrawan Mandal.

Shot dead

Patna: One Rafiq Mian, an auto driver, was shot dead at Manas Path area under Khajekala police station of Patna City, on Wednesday. Police said three bullets hit Rafiq, who had a criminal history.

Reschedule

Patna: The schedule of Darbhanga-Kolkata Express (15234) would be changed from August 14. Instead of Friday, the train will now run on Sunday. The train will run as usual on Wednesday too.

Arrest

Patna: JD (U) MLA from Tarari in Bhojpur Narendra Kumar Pandey was arrested on Wednesday while moving with a mukhiya candidate of Nargadda panchayat Brijesh Bahadur and 20 others after the end of electioneering for the panchayat polls in the district, slated for May 12.

Chargesheet

Patna: The state police have submitted a chargesheet against 399 people, including 62 mukhiya and zila parishad candidates of the ongoing panchayat polls in the state.

Fraud

Patna: Muzaffarpur police arrested Shyam Kumar, owner of Shiv Shakti Traders, at Bhagwanpur, for his involvement in fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 50 lakh from bank account of a Mumbai-based company, Aristo Pharmaceuticals Private Ltd.
