Cong face for coal

Patna: Union minister of state for commerce and industry Jyotiraditya Scindia has been appointed Bihar in-charge for presenting the government’s views and contradict the Opposition’s charges on the CAG report on coal block allotment. he Congress high command has appointed one central minister in-charge of each state for the issue.

Funds prod

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar directed officials on Tuesday to expedite the process of funds utilisation allotted to different departments under plan head.

Compensation

Patna: A high court bench on Tuesday directed the station house officer of Rajiv Nagar and other police officers to pay Rs 1 lakh as compensation to an advocate who alleged police misbehaviour.

Lalu rally

Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad will start the fourth phase of his yatra against chief minister Nitish Kumar from Begusarai on September 16 .

Ticket drive

Patna: East Central Railway has planned a massive ticket checking drive in and around Patna Junction for the next three days. More than 100 ticket staff and GRP, RPF jawans would be deployed for the task.

Six arrested

Patna: Six persons, including a constable, were arrested during a raid at illegal mining units in Rohtas on Tuesday.
