Eleven hurt in mishap

Gopalganj: Eight girl students and three teachers were injured when the bus carrying them collided head-on with a truck at Devapur village in the district on Sunday. he students and teachers of Rajkiya upgraded school, Baikunthpur, were on way to Thawe temple. They were taken to Gopalganj Sadar hospital.

River concern

Dismissal

Patna: Director-general of police Neel Mani has ordered dismissal of a trainee sub-inspector Sanjeev Kumar Suman following his involvement in misappropriation of some articles recovered from the house of a thief by a Mumbai police team a few days ago.

Arms seizure

Patna: Munger police destroyed three bunkers and seized one weapon, 27 rounds of ammunition, five sets of police uniform, two packets of explosives and five detonators after an encounter with Naxalites in Dharhara forest on Sunday.

Patna: RJD MP Rajniti Prasad escaped unhurt when a group of people pelted stones at his vehicle near Mahdeva village in Munger on Sunday.

Flights delay

Patna: Two Delhi-bound flights, AI- 415 and Jet Airways’ S2 290, got delayed at Patna airport on Sunday owing to technical snags. ir India’s Delhi-bound AI- 415, which was scheduled to land at Patna airport at 7.30pm, was delayed by an hour. Another Delhi-bound flight of Jet Airways (S2 290) scheduled to arrive at Patna airport at 6.50pm, arrived at 7.40pm.

Thief lynch

Patna: An irate mob lynched a suspected thief, Chaturi Singh, in Shivganj locality under Dehri-on-Sone police station in Rohtas district early on Sunday morning on an attempt to steal a buffalo from a nearby village.

Squash

Patna: The four-day state-level squash championship for juniors in the age group of 15 to 19 years will be played in the squash court of Bankipore Club. Being organised by Bihar State Squash Rackets Association, the tournament will start from July 28.
