Martyr honour

Patna: The body of Lieutenant Colonel Santosh Kumar arrived in Patna on Friday and was given a guard of honour at Danapur Cantonment. The 36-year-old officer with the Gorkha Rifles died during shelling on November 20 in the Kibito area of Arunachal Pradesh on the India-China border.

Tax probe

Patna: The economic offences wing of the state police would be used to investigate cases of tax evasion, claimed deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday.

Collision

Siwan: Sampark Kranti Express (12566) collided with a truck at an unmanned railway crossing between Daraunda and Chainwa railway stations on Friday morning. No casualty was reported.

Suicides

Darbhanga/Muzaffarpur: Inspector (arms) of Bihar Military Police-13 Sagar Honhonga committed suicide by hanging at his official residence at BMP colony. Commandant of BMP 13 Sudhir Kumar said Honhonga, whose body has been sent for post-mortem, committed suicide. In another incident, a Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology student Ranjit Kumar, a resident of Nalanda, committed suicide on Friday by consuming sleeping pills.
