Child’s body found

Patna: A body of a boy aged between eight and nine was recovered on Wednesday at the Nandlal Chapra area at the border of the Agamkuan and Bypass police stations. he eyes were gouged out and the body was thrown in a heap of garbage. The police said that the boy is yet to be identified adding that it could be a case of a murder.

Scheme check

Patna: A meeting was organised by the urban development and housing department which was headed by urban development minister Prem Kumar. The minister, as part of Swarna Jayanti Rozgar Yojana, issued guidelines for regular monitoring of schemes and to finish pending works within a time frame.

IT policy

Patna: The Bihar Industries Association (BIA) has welcomed the announcement of IT policy, 2011 for the state. Shailendra P. Sinha, the president of the association while commenting on the new policy expressed satisfaction that the much-needed IT policy required to boost the IT industry has arrived.

Patna: Students of BN College on Wednesday staged a protest march denouncing the college administration over anomalies in admission process in the history department.

Health

Patna: Veteran paediatricians of the city gathered in a hotel on Wednesday to explore the possibility of bringing in uniform protocol in management and treatment of pediatric diseases. The doctors were taking part in a programme organised under the aegis of Indian Academy of Paediatrics.

Arrest

Sitamarhi: Awadhesh Narayan Singh, former mukhiya of Saiyara panchayat, was arrested on Wednesday from Sitamarhi in connection with irregularity in purchase of solar lights.

Raid

Biharsharif: A joint team of the district police and administrative officials led by the sub-divisional officer carried out a raid at Jyoti Rice Mill at Noorsarai and seized 600 bags of foodgrain. One person has also been detained for interrogation. ajipur: One country-made gun and a few live cartridges were seized during a raid under Desari police station in Vaishali district on Wednesday.
