Chhath ghat survey

Patna: Urban development minister Prem Kumar on Wednesday visited the Ganga ghats and directed the department officials to make arrangements for Chhath.he minister also instructed Patna Municipal Corporation officials to clean and arrange for lights at the ghats.

Rajak darbar

Patna: Food and civil supplies minister Shyam Rajak on Wednesday organised a janata darbar in his Assembly constituency Phulwari. Visitors to the darbar complained about anomalies in Indira Gandhi Old Age Pension.

Campaign

Patna: Around 100 schoolchildren and teachers took part in Students’ Action for Education campaign on Wednesday. IFS Abhay Kumar flagged off the campaign at the zoo .

Gold seized

Patna: Income Tax sleuths on Wednesday found 12kg of unaccounted gold worth Rs 3.5 crore from a jewellery trader in Gaya town during a survey.

Varsity probe

Muzaffarpur: Babasahed Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University authorities on Wednesday ordered to stop teaching in the law department of Munshi Singh College, Motihari. Sources said a committee has been formed to probe irregularities in the department.

Robbers foiled

Motihari: Two Indian Oil Corporation employees foiled an attempted robbery on National Highway 28 on Wednesday. Police said the duo were on their way to a bank to deposit Rs 4 lakh when robbers attacked them.

Team visit

Patna: A Bihar State Human Rights Commission team visited Nokha in Rohtas district on Wednesday to inquire into the complaint of alleged police atrocity. One Sanjay Kumar Deepak had alleged that his brother A. Chaurasia was being harassed for lodging a complaint against some influential persons.

Arms bust

Patna: An illegal mini gun factory was busted at Harakh locality in Begusarai on Wednesday. The owner, Shabhi Sharan Singh, was arrested and weapons were seized.
