Doval for Sino talks

New Delhi, Nov. 24: The Narendra Modi government has formally named national security adviser Ajit Doval as its special representative on the boundary talks with China, opening the way for resumption of the dialogue.

 

Deora dead

New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and former petroleum minister Murli Deora died on Monday after prolonged illness. He was 77.

Officer killed

New Delhi: Retired Air Commodore Parvez Khokhar was found murdered in his home in Bangalore on Monday with his hands and legs tied.

 

Arrest

Muzaffarpur: Motipur general physician Ved Prakash was arrested on Monday for his close association with rebels.

 

Carnage

Munger: One Kajru Manjhi was arrested on Monday for his involvement in the Kareli carnage in Lakhisarai in 2011 killing six.

 

Transfer

Patna: Around 400 officers of Bihar State Education Service were transferred to the education department on Monday.

Patna: Patna University Y. C. Simahadri on Monday apologised for his Saturday comment against students.

 

Jail term

Patna: Special CBI judge Vijay Kumar Srivastava on Monday sentenced former godown in-charge (Patna) of BSNL Swami Dutta Bhasker to three years of imprisonment in connection with misappropriating funds.

 

Cowsheds

Patna: The high court on Monday directed Patna senior superintendent of police to file a reply as to what action he had taken to ensure khatals (cowsheds) once removed from the city would not reappear. Patna Municipal Corporation told the court that in some areas, khatals had reappeared after being removed.
