Rice mill launch

Patna: Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday inaugurated a rice mill at Jodavarpur village in Akodhigola block of Rohtas district. ddressing a gathering after the inauguration, Manjhi said the state government is committed to develop industries in the state. He said the government wants to develop agro-based industries so that farmers can get better procurement price for their products.

Rural job

Patna: Rural development minister Nitish Mishra on Tuesday directed deputy development commissioners to expedite works related to MGNREGA, Indira Awas Yojana and other development schemes so that the targets fixed under different heads could be achieved. The minister also gave direction to identify the beneficiaries who have earlier been left out in all such schemes.

Pension call

Patna: Former director-general of police Narayan Mishra on Tuesday called on chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and sought his intervention for the payment of his post-retirement pension. Mishra was denied pension as a case of disproportionate assets was lodged against him.

Health protest

Patna: Demonstration by Bihar Chikitsa Jan Swasthya Karmchari Sangh members entered its third day on Tuesday. The members are sitting on dharna in support of their various demands.

Bank strike

Patna: Around 3 lakh bank employees went on strike on Tuesday in the southern region of the country to press for wage hike. There would be strike on December 3 in the northern zone, followed by eastern zone, including Bihar, on December 4.

LIC agents

Patna: The secretary of Life Insurance Agents’ Federation of India, Patna divisional council-2, Rajesh Kumar, on Tuesday made a call to all LIC agents to participate at the demonstration scheduled to be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on December 9.

Patna: AN Sinha Institute of Social Studies in collaboration with department of revenue and land reforms will organise a four-day training programme on Bihar Land Reforms Acts, Rules and Circulars for government officials from December 3.
