Fodder case verdict
Ranchi (PTI)
: A special CBI court on Wednesday convicted 19 fodder accused, including disqualified JD(U) MP Jagdish Sharma, in the case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 1.16 crore from Godda treasury in the 1990s. BI judge Sitaram Prasad convicted Sharma in the case RC 34 A/96, and fixed January 24 to pronounce the quantum of sentence against Sharma and 11 others. The court sentenced up to three years against seven convicts on Wednesday.
Re-evaluation
Muzaffarpur: The examination board of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University has decided to re-evaluate answer scripts of students who vandalised the campus on Monday, alleging irregularities in marks. The papers would be reviewed on Friday.
Assets seizure
Patna: The enforcement directorate has confiscated the property of Suresh Nut, a Begusarai resident involved in a sex racket, under the provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
PMC audit
Patna: An ongoing audit by the finance and accounts office of Patna Municipal Corporation has stated that Rs 85.26 lakh was wasted on fuel for 66 municipal vehicles in the financial year 2012-13.

Patna: Education minister P.K. Shahi launched a toll-free helpline number – 18003456208 – using which people can lodge complaints related to implementation of midday meal scheme in the state.
Fraud case
Gopalganj: One Ravi Shankar Kumar Sonu of Manikpur was caught red handed on Wednesday while using ATM cards of others. Police recovered 16 ATM cards and Rs 78,000 from him.

Siwan: Special judge S.K. Pandey on Wednesday awarded life imprisonment to Birendra Gor and Baban Rajbhar on the charge of murdering Shiv Narayan Rai in 2007.

Bonus prod to farmers
Patna: Food and consumer protection minister Shyam Rajak on Wednesday directed his department officials to ensure payment of bonus to the farmers at the time of procurement of paddy from them.
The government has announced Rs 250 per quintal as bonus to the farmers.

Patna: Farmers would get Rs 1,400 as minimum support price for wheat in the 2014-15
rabi crop season.

Patna: Police on Wednesday raided a printing press located near the Birla
Temple and recovered fake text books of Bihar State Text Book Publishing Corporation. The police said a total of 50 lakh text books and printing material have been recovered.
