Gopalganj: Students went on the rampage and ransacked Vasudeo Inter College at Digwa Dubauli on Friday. They also set fire to the furniture. The students, numbering around 250, alleged that they had not been given registration forms needed to sit for examinations commencing from April 19. hey also torched furniture at Revati High School. On receiving news, police reached the spot and lathicharged them. The principal was not available for comment.

Officer dies

Gopalganj: The circle officer of Piprasi block, Manoj Kumar, died in a road accident near Bankata village along NH-28 on Friday. A driver and an employee of the block, who were travelling with Manoj, suffered injuries and were referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Murder case

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Birendra Prasad Verma on Friday allowed the state government’s plea to book former RJD jailed MP Mohammad Shahabuddin under Section 302 for his alleged involvement in the murder of two persons in Siwan in 2004.

Fire safety

Patna: The eastern region headquarters of NTPC organised a programme to demonstrate the use of fire extinguishers as part of a fire safety week being observed.

Grief

Patna: Members of Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industries mourned the death of the organisation’s former general secretary, Sharat Kumar Agrawal, on Friday. Chamber president P.K. Agrawal said Sharat had rendered excellent service for betterment of industries.

DM probe

Muzaffarpur: District magistrate Anupam Kumar has ordered a probe by technical experts of Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited into lapses made in repair of a bridge on the Budhi Gandak river in Akharaghat.

Order flout FIR

Chhapra: An FIR was lodged against the RJD MLA from Baniapur, Kedar Nath Singh, his brother Dinanath Singh and nephew Sudhir for disobeying orders of a local court.
