LPG racket bust

Patna: Police busted a racket involved in pilferage of cooking gas and sale in the black market following the arrest of seven vendors during a raid at Meena Bazar in Patna City on Friday. uring the interrogation, racket kingpin Sanjay Paswan said he was earlier an employee of a LPG agency.

Court order

Patna: A single bench of Justice Shivaji Pandey of the high court, hearing cases filed by Arun Kumar Sinha and others, on Friday directed the Magadh University to produce documents related to the alleged illegal appointment of 22 principals in its constituent colleges in 2012.

Meal tragedy

Patna: More than 30 students of a government primary school at Katar village in Rohtas district fell ill after eating midday meal on Friday. A lizard was found in the food. The victims have been admitted to the Dehri sub-divisional hospital.

Molest case

Patna: The girl from Jharkhand, who accused Patna Medical College principal Amar Kant Jha Amar of eve teasing and attempted molestation, on Friday got her statement recorded under Section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code before judicial magistrate Rashmi Prasad.

Prison term

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge Anil Kumar Singh sentenced a couple of Muzaffarpur to four years of rigorous imprisonment for abducting a 16-year-old girl in 2008.

Body found

Bhagalpur: Police on Friday morning recovered the body of a 26-year-old woman from a private lodge near Choti Khanzarpur locality in Bhagalpur. The deceased, identified as Tina Kumari, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room.

Arms haul

Araria (PTI): Sashastra Seema Bal jawans recovered arms and ammunition from two trains at Bathnaha railway station in the district on Friday.
