Come Thursday, Patna would have a new super-speciality hospital promising quality service to its patients.

Paras HMRI Hospital, a super-speciality hospital, is set to become functional from August 1 in Raja Bazar.

The 350-bed hospital would house different departments, including cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics and oncology.

Patients can get deluxe suites to economical rooms at the Paras HMRI Hospital.

Its team would comprise 150 doctors, many of whom have worked at hospitals such as the New Delhi-based Fortis Hospital and the Vellore-based Christian Medical College and Hospital. Surgeon A.A. Hai, one of the founders of Paras HMRI Hospital, said at least 30 per cent patients from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh go to Delhi for treatment.

Announcing the launch on Sunday evening, hospital director Dr Gopal Sharan said: “The aim behind opening this super-speciality hospital is to provide quality service to the people of this state who so far, have been deprived of quality healthcare services because of lack of super-speciality hospitals in Bihar. They would no longer have to go to the metros for treatment, as now they have Paras HMRI Hospital in Patna.”

He added that though Paras HMRI Hospital would provide super speciality treatment, it would charge its patients 10 per cent less than what similar hospitals in the metros and bigger cities do.

Dr Pramod Kumar, head of department, cardiology, expressed his happiness of being a part of the Paras HMRI Hospital family. Kumar, who earlier worked at Fortis Hospital, New Delhi, said: “Paras HMRI Hospital has been equipped with all the hi-tech machines. So, every kind of cardiac surgery can be performed here.”
