| A man caught in a smart shower on Frazer Road on Tuesday morning. A moderate low pressure area, prevailing over Patna, caused intermittent rain on Monday night and Tuesday morning. “The low pressure area, dominant over the Odisha coast at present, is affecting the weather of Bihar, Jharkhand and Bengal. This led to the formation of thunderstorms and moderate rainfall on Monday and light rainfall on Tuesday in Patna,” said Ashish Sen, director (radar) of India Meteorological Department. The showers on Tuesday morning caught several office-goers unawares on the thoroughfares, as dense black clouds covered the cityscape. Weathermen said overcast skies and showers would prevail in the city at least till Wednesday. “As the low pressure area is moving very slowly, it is likely to cross Odisha and enter Chhattisgarh tomorrow (Wednesday). It’s likely to be over by Thursday,” said Sen, adding that departure of the low pressure area from the state would also mark the withdrawal of monsoon from Bihar.
