Patna: People coming to attend the concluding function of Prakash Parv will have a mobile app at their disposal.
The app will help them gather all important information related to the event and also to know about the facilities on offer for them.
The concluding function of Prakash Parv, organised to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the last Sikh guru, will be held in Patna from December 23 to 25. The inaugural event of Prakash Parv had been held earlier this year and Patna had received over five lakh visitors during the event.
Officials in the tourism department, the nodal department for the event, are expecting bigger inflow of tourists in the concluding function.
The app has been named 350thprakashparv and it can be downloaded for free from the Google Playstore. It was launched during the inaugural event of the Prakash Parv but is now being refurbished to make it tailor-made for the concluding event.
"The technical team has already started working on the app. It is likely to be re-launched in its refurbished form latest by December 1," a senior official of the tourism department told The Telegraph.
Some of the major changes that will be introduced in the app will be related to the details about the concluding function, change in venues of the programmes, tent cities being put for tourists, a detailed write-up on the closing ceremony and also related maps to help visitors navigate to the different venues, where main functions will take place.
Service requests can be made using the app. Moreover, it will have langar venues, details about help desks, parking facilities and details about eateries one could find. It also has a user engagement feature using which anyone can test his/her knowledge about Bihar and Guru Gobind Singh by taking quiz questions.
