Patna, Jan. 27: Fifteen-year-old Akbar Anam Faizi, who went missing from his home near Haj Hospital under Shastrinagar police station on January 24, has been found.
Faizi, a Class X student of Delhi Public School, called home from Mumbai last evening to say that he was safe.
Though the police are yet to provide more details about the case, they said Faizi had called home from the Lok Manya Tilak Terminal in Mumbai.
“The family left yesterday for Mumbai, immediately after getting his call, to bring him home. The police had alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mumbai who are keeping him under their protection till the family arrives,” Patna senior superintendent of police B.S. Meena told The Telegraph.
A police source said the reason the boy suddenly went to Mumbai was not very clear.
“The matter is still under investigation,” the source said.
The family had lodged a missing complaint at the Shastrinagar police station at around 11pm on Tuesday.
His father, Imanul Haq Siddique is the district manager with the State Food Corporation of India, the police said.
The family lives on the third floor of GMK Apartments located just behind the Hai Hospital near the Raja Bazaar area.
According to the statement given to the police, the family said on January 24, Faizi had gone to buy chicken from a nearby shop.
He had told his sister that he would be back soon.
The boy had asked to the chicken shop owner to cut and then pack the chicken and he would be back in a while. He never returned.
