An 11-member delegation of Central University of Bihar Construction Struggling Committee (CUBCSC) will meet chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday to press their demand for setting up the varsity in Gaya.
The CUBCSC convener and script writer Sanjay Sahay, former minister and Congress leader Awdhesh Kumar Singh, Gaya Municipal Corporation deputy mayor Akhauri Onkarnath alias Mohan Shrivastava and other members of the committee told reporters on Thursday that their further course of action would hinge on the outcome of the delegation’s meeting with the chief minister. If it gets an assurance that Gaya would be considered as the locale of the CUB, the agitation would be postponed for the time being.
The committee has, however, chalked a plan to intensify the agitation for setting up the CUB in Gaya if the chief minister ruled it out as a probable locale of the institution.
Sahay said the committee had planned to stage demonstration at nine places in Gaya town on April 5. The panel would give a Gaya bandh call on April 11 if the delegation returns empty-handed after meeting the chief minister.
