Fun with wizards…
Wish for a 3D outing with Harry Potter is hardly a surprise. Young Mohammad Umar, a huge fan of the boy wizard and his friends, would like to see all the eight Harry Potter movies in 3D (last four movies have already been released in 3D). Who wouldn't, when there are the Triwizard Tournament, Harry’s first game of Quidditch against the Slytherins and many more to choose from?
“I would love to watch all the Harry Potter movies in 3D. Of course, I have seen all of them but the adventures would be more fun in 3D. Harry’s first task in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire — stealing a dragon egg from a Hungarian Horntail — would be amazing to watch with the 3D glasses. I would be able to feel Harry fly with his broomstick around Hogwarts to get the dragon egg. It would be great,” Umar said.
Umar would also love to see Harry and Ron fight the troll (set loose by Professor Quirrell in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). “I like that scene in the movie and it would be better to see the fight in 3D. It would seem so real,” said the Class IV student of Don Bosco Academy.
...and many others
Ayushee Ghoshal wants to fly with Harry Potter on his broomstick. “I am a Potter fan, like most kids and many grown ups. Harry Potter’s magic is spellbinding. Who wouldn’t love to escape to a place where incantations and spells fix your problems in a jiffy? I would love to fly on the broomstick, chase the golden snitch, dine with Nearly Headless Nick or fight ‘He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named’, all with Harry in the world of 3D. To experience the chill and thrill of the characters would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Ayushee.
The Class XII DAV BSEB student has a few other movies on her 3D wishlist — 2012, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Inception and Lord of the Rings.
“From seeing the Eiffel Tower blow into pieces to flying in a plane to landing on an isolated mountain and watching the Himalayas melt, 2012 in 3D would be treat for cine lovers. The climax in the Prince of Persia, when Nizam tries to stab the sandglass with a dagger and Dastan opens the dagger is something I would love to watch in 3D. The puzzle of Inception, with its dream invaders, would be a delirious experience if released with 3D effects. Waking up from this dream would be difficult,” added Ayushee.
Feel the magic…
“A journey into the 3D world of films is a thrilling ride. One of the films I would love to see in 3D is Christopher Nolan’s The Prestige. The story of the rivalry between two magicians, set in the turn-of-the-19th-century London, would be intense to see. The tricks and the murder scene would come alive in 3D and make for an exciting watch,” said Class XII student of St Michael’s High School, Kritika Ramya.
Kritika’s 3D inspiration is James Cameron’s Titanic, which was re-released a few weeks ago.
A Harry Potter fan, like many of her ilk, Kritika would not mind watching the young wizard’s adventures with his friends and well-wishers.
...And fear
Horror is Tushar Pandey’s favourite genre.
The Class X student of DAV BSEB wants to see Grudge 3 in 3D. “This sequel to Grudge 2 has features more enhanced than any other horror movie. Some of the scenes in the film, which deal with hallucinations and curse, are really gory. However, I would like to see the scenes of Kayako, the phantom of the movie, in 3D. Her appearance is good enough to frighten any body but 3D effects would make it unsurpassable,” said Tushar.
Seems like Harry and group reigns supreme. Are the makers listening?
