Patna: The RJD has called a meeting on September 11 to discuss strategy for the coming Lok Sabha elections with all its legislators, parliamentarians, former lawmakers and district presidents.

Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will preside over the meeting at 10 Circular Road here.

State unit president Ram Chandra Purbey told The Telegraph about the meeting next Tuesday. "Our Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav ji has called the meeting on September 11 in which all MLAs, MLCs, district presidents, MPs and former lawmakers will be present. Candidates of previous Lok Sabha elections have also been asked to attend that meeting which will start at 11.30am. We will discuss the roadmap ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled next year," Purbey said after meeting Tejashwi at the young leader's 5 Deshratna Marg in Patna.

Booth-level agents will also be present at the September 11 meeting where they will be briefed on instructions from the Election Commission.

The Janata Dal United's state executive is also scheduled to meet on September 16.

Sources in the RJD said seat-sharing talks will not be held at the meeting because all such decision will be taken by party chief Lalu Prasad. In jail right now, Lalu is in constant touch with his alliance partners, they said.

"There is no problem with seat sharing in the Grand Alliance and once the top leaders sit together, it will be finalised in a few minutes. Unlike the NDA, where the JDU, LJP and RLSP are fighting over seat sharing, everything is cool in the Grand Alliance," Purbey stressed.

Purbey said the only agenda of the Grand Alliance was to not allow the RSS and BJP to implement their communal and fascist rule in India, and Bihar in particular.

The state unit chief had gone to meet Tejashwi at the same time his JDU counterpart, Bashishtha Narayan Singh, visited 7 Circular Road residence to meet chief minister Nitish Kumar - and JDU president - who is not keeping well for the past few days.

Asked about meeting Nitish, Singh said: "I had gone to enquire about his health because he is unwell. No politics was discussed." He added that seat-sharing matters will be resolved in the NDA by the end of this month as talks were still on.
