Lively salute to culture - Beauty of nature on stage

Patna, Feb. 7: Usha Martin World School celebrated its second annual programme today on campus with an eye on Indian history and culture.

Students came dressed to match the theme. The school was also decked up fine.

Rashmi Tripathi, the regional officer of CBSE (Patna and Jharkhand zone), was the chief guest at the programme. She inaugurated the function after which the students presented a Ganesh vandana dance and a welcome song.

Mirth and festivity filled the venue as young dancers took to the stage. The primary and pre-primary students put up colourful performances in a flower dance, bird dance and animal dance to show the beauty of nature.

The parents were suitably surprised to see their wards in vibrant outfits on the stage.

The junior section students won hearts with a play on the life of Rani of Jhansi Laxmibai, a song medley and mime.

Students of Class IX took to more serious issues in the play Bon Appétit. They focused on the health hazards of junk food on youngsters.

Other senior students also presented a dandiya performance to depict the serenity of Goddess Durga in every woman.

Inderpaul Johar, an educationist and regeneration consultant from London, the special guest at the programme, motivated the students to achieve their goals in life.

Appreciating the school's efforts in co-ordinating such programmes, he also encouraged the students to make best use of every opportunities at hand.

The chief guest, Rashmi Tripathi, said: 'It is an absolute honour for me to be present here today. I am sure that all the students and teachers have worked real hard for weeks to make this wonderful show possible.'

Usha Martin World School principal Anita Singh shed light on the year-long academic activities at the institution. She also emphasised on the school's learner-centric approach, ensuring the students were suitably exposed to various co-scholastic activities for all-round development.
