The ISC examination began on Thursday on a happy note as most of the candidates found the first day’s Hindi optional paper relatively easy.

Darakhshan, a Class XII arts student of St Joseph’s Convent High School, did not find any problem in answering the questions. “The paper was easy but a bit lengthy. It was easier in comparison with the papers of the last two years. Even the essay in section-A was easy to attempt.”

Farzana Ahmad, mother of arts student Nida Ahmad, was not at all nervous though it was the first day of ISC exams. Farzana had come to bring her daughter back.

“It’s a Hindi paper and it must be easy. My daughter was not tensed before the exam,” she said.

School principal Sister Justina too was quite happy. She said: “I am happy that my girls found the paper easy and our sisters are praying for them.”

Just like Darakhshan, her friends Shilpi Chatterjee and Nida Khurshid of the same stream, found the paper easy but quite lengthy. Khurshid said: “It was good that the questions were not twisted. The proverbs were easy and no character-sketch had to be dealt with.”
